Hey there and welcome to my new blog.

Now I’m a person who sees stories in pretty much every aspect of life. Every one, everything has a story – most more than one – and I’m unendingly curious about all of them. I love stories. Love and adore them. Live for them, really. And because I’m not the world’s most outgoing person, the kind of stories I find myself particularly drawn to are those nicely packaged for me on paper and on screen – books, movies, t.v., song lyrics, games. I also like to scribble my own down from time to time in an effort to get some of those stories I see out in the world on paper; to answer (if only for myself) some of the ‘what ifs’ and ‘whys’ that I find myself asking about life, the Universe and everything.

This blog is an attempt to put my passion for stories into some kind of order. To look a little closer at the stories that I surround myself with every day and determine what it is about them that I really love – what works and what doesn’t for me – hopefully helping my own crafting ability in the process. And if it doesn’t help as much as I might hope, well, no knowledge learned is ever entirely useless, right?

So yeah, this will be mostly a review filled blog, at least at first. The stuff I’m fond of tends to lie mostly in the realms of sci-fi and fantasy, speculative fiction, a bit of Gothic horror here and there, urban fantasy, etc. You get the picture. After I’ve had a bit of practice with the reviews, I plan on posting up a novella (chapter by chapter) in the hopes that some of you out there might find it entertaining enough to offer up a comment or two (which would be just nifty).

At the bottom of this page you’ll find a few stickies noting what I’m currently reading, watching, listening to, and playing. If you’ve got any suggestions for books, games and such that you think I should check out, let me know. Especially music, I’m always on the lookout for new music.

I think that’s about it.

My better half and I are off to see the latest Harry Potter flick tomorrow, so I’ll begin the blogging with that.
